  • 1 lb. carrots, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan.
  2. Stir to make sure well blended.
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and continue boiling (uncovered) for about 20 minutes, or until carrots are tender and the liquid has evaporated.

  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 can creamed corn
  • 1 box Jiffy corn muffin mix
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Mix together all ingredients.
  3. Place ingredients in a greased bread pan.
  4. Bake for 50-60 minutes.

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 9 cups Crispix cereal
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  1. Combine peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
  2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Place Crispix in a very large bowl.
  5. Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cereal and toss evenly, making sure all the cereal gets a good coating.
  6. Place the powdered sugar in a large zip-lock type plastic bag.
  7. Add the coated cereal mixture to the bag in small batches.(Leave enough room to shale the cereal.
  8. Shake the bag vigorously to evenly coat each piece of the puppy chow with powdered sugar.
  9. Once the mixture is fully coated, place in a large serving bowl.
  10. Coat any additional pieces by shaking the mixture in the powdered sugar filled bag. Add powdered sugar to the bag as needed until all the mixture is coated.

For a variation for Christmas you can do a combination of red and green grapes as well as milk and white chocolate.

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 lb seedless grapes
  • 1 cup salted peanuts, finely chopped
  1. Wash grapes and make sure they are completely dry.
  2. In microwave safe bowl, place chips and microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.
  3. Dip grapes into melted chocolate and roll in peanuts.
  4. Set on wax paper to dry.
