This recipe makes a large amount of apple butter. When I made it it filled about 7 (1/2 pint) jars.

  • 12 medium apples
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  1. Peel, core and slice apples.
  2. Place apples and apple cider in crockpot. Cook on low for about 7 hours.
  3. Add sugar and spices and continue to cook on low for about 1 more hour.

I usually just mix this together by guessing measurements. You can usually tell if there is enough mustard if you mix it together and it doesn't immediately separate.

  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp dijon mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Mix together all ingredients.
  2. Serve chilled

*If you want to make this sauce as a salad dressing, add a small amount of vinegar until it is the taste/consistency you would like.

  • 6 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • pinch of salt
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
